Meet Vincent

“Was great to have the whole family interested in the challenge and getting fit together.”

Both my wife and I were skeptical when we saw the advertisement for the K2Fit Challenge. Would it be fun? Would we be motivated to finish the challenge? Would we be able to achieve, especially at our age over 40, what others could? Would we have enough psychological support in order not to quit? Would this be different than all other Fitness Challenges that we never quite ever finished?

The answer to all of the above questions is a big “YES”. It was structured in such a way that we could compete amongst us as we were separated into different groups. We got to choose the name for our group which was “The Cast-a-Weighs”.  All members of our group communicated through WeChat and would send motivational messages but also a lot of jokes that kept us going. We were of all ages but yet we trained together as if we were all of the same age. We all had one goal: do our best and try to get as fit as possible. If we would win the challenge that would be a bonus to our fitness.

For my wife and I, the challenge proved to be a motivator to start exercising, regardless of winning or not. But as time went by we started feeling good about ourselves and became more interested in all aspects of our health. Exercising became fun as we had a team to share our exercise experiences. Having a group of friends to just vent about your difficulties while trying to keep fit was uplifting and sometimes made all the difference as to not quit.

But above all, we had a leader, Kara. She is the type of leader that helps you keep exercising in a non-threatening way. She was always there in the background and would appear just at the right time with motivational videos and short exercise programs that could be done anywhere, even in a hotel room. She was motivational but also firm as to what she expected from us. Having a leader that you know understands what you are going through without making you feel incompetent or less that what you are supposed to be or doing is truly great
